Kamala Harris will be elected as the next US president thanks to the Swifties movement.
A massively popular support club for Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign was started by Taylor Swift aficionados. Swifties4Harris, a Swifties-powered support organization on the microblogging platform X, is mobilizing quickly to garner support for Harris in the forthcoming elections. On the same day that US President Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race, the organization was established.
Swifties Movement for Kamala Harris
Swifties organized a support group for Harris on the day that Biden declared his withdrawal from the race to become the next president of the United States. Emerald Medrano, a 22-year-old Swiftie from Texas, started the support organization by urging other Swifties in the US to get more involved in the next elections. He posted on X, saying, “It would be great if we American Swifties could get together, support Kamala Harris, and spread the word about how terrible Project 2025 would be in order to get as many people as possible to vote in November.” Like, we truly need to mobilize and advocate for blue votes if we want democracy to survive.”
Following this, a 300-member Discord channel was created in the next ten days, and thousands of people joined on social media to spread the news about Harris’s effort. After learning from the VP’s campaign, Medrano remarked, “Having that support from the Harris campaign is really exciting and fun.” According to ABC News, “I feel really honored that they acknowledge us as Swifties and what we’re doing as good.”
Now that the Swifties for Kamala campaign has gotten traction, they are considering creative ways to put it to use to their advantage. All of their tactics have been coordinated with Swift’s extensive US tour schedule, which includes stops in Louisiana, Indiana, and Florida in the coming months. Among other things, concertgoers will be registered to vote and the campaign events will coincide with the tour dates.
Taylor’s support for the Swifties For Kamala initiative
As of right now, the Lover’s vocalist has not said which presidential candidate she supports in 2024. Although Swift has not yet confirmed her backing, the movement anticipates Harris will. This is a result of the artist openly expressing her opinions and supporting Biden in the 2020 race. In addition, she was a fierce opponent of Trump, charging that he was “stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism” and endangering the lives of “millions of Americans in an effort to hold on to power.”
But the movement isn’t waiting around for Swift to make a statement; they’re going ahead with their preparations. “It would obviously be great if Taylor did endorse because we’ve seen what kind of power she can mobilize,” Merdano stated in an interview with ABC News. However, I don’t believe that’s what we should be waiting for. As Swifties, we have a great deal of autonomy inside our own group to enable us to take action.”
Netizens react to Swiftie For Harris movement
People’s responses to the support group on the internet changed as Swifties for Harris continued to garner notice and supporters. The statement “I bet the #Swifties4Harris Zoom has the highest attendance” was posted by an X supporter of the cause. The Swifties never play. We are worldwide. multigenerational, racial, LGBT, and heterosexual. And it’s always possible that Tay Tay will appear, drop a single, drop a rep, or drop a sweater. You must attend.
“On a Zoom call with thousands of women who want to help elect Kamala Harris as our first female president,” a second person said. Yes, Pink has joined us, along with Gracie Abram’s mother Katie McGrath.
“I need all of the celebrities with ride-or-die, well-established, cult-like, and of-age fan bases to wake up RIGHT NOW,” penned a third user on X. I’m pretty sure I only see #BARBZ4HARRIS, #HIVE4HARRIS, #SWIFTIES4HARRIS, and #OWLS4HARRIS on music Twitter.

Another commenter expressed her support for the project by writing, “WHO MADE THIS LOGO? Though I wouldn’t want to copy their design, I would kind of like to make shirts for #Swifties4harris. These are only crude mockups; they should be slightly more accurately proportioned and positioned.
