Action-thriller Vedaa, starring John Abraham-Sharvari, features a trailer that depicts resistance against persecution. August 15 is the film’s release date.
John Abraham is once again in his high-octane action mode. But this time, the actor takes on the role of a mentor, helping Sharvari fight an unjust system and achieve justice. There is more to Vedaa’s August 1st teaser than simply gore and spectacular action scenes.
Vedaa shows a fight against social oppression
The trailer opens with John Abraham’s character fighting goons hand-to-hand while the Bhagavad Gita’s Lord Krishna is being recited in the background. “Whenever there will be decay in righteousness, he will defend Dharma,” according to his persona.
The figure played by Abhishek Bannerjee is seen tormenting peasants while declaring, “I abide by the caste system.” “If the caste system is everything, then what is the need for law and constitution in this country?” asks Sharvari’s character.
Sharvari’s Vedaa asks Major Abhimanyu Kanwar, an ex-armyman from the 11 Gorkha Rifles who was court-martialed for defying his superiors, for assistance as the villagers pray for a defender.
John-Sharvari’s Vedaa takes inspiration from Mahabharata
To combat the prejudice, Abhimanyu gives Vedaa boxing and martial arts training. Even if her mentor helps her, it is still her responsibility to fight for social justice. There are snippets of several intense action scenes featuring both Sharvari and John.
As the teaser concludes, an injured John points at Sharvari and says, “I am just a sarthi (charioteer), you have to break the chakravyuh (a military formation used to surround the enemy).” When the action comes to a close, she is shown boxing her opponent and declaring, “Even if I don’t survive, I want to die while fighting.”
Several analogies from the Mahabharata are used in the film, such as the reference to Lord Krishna’s relationship with Arjuna and the use of the name Abhimanyu for John’s persona. In addition, Mouni Roy in a dancing scene, and Tamannaah Bhatia, who plays John’s romantic interest, are glimpsed throughout the film.
Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment, and JA Entertainment are the producers of Vedaa. Nikkhil Advani is the director, and August 15 is the scheduled release date.
