After criticizing Joe Biden for months, Donald Trump has made a stunning U-turn and is now positioning himself as the emboldened defender of the current President.
Trump launched an attack on Biden’s former supporters and the Democratic Party on his Truth Social platform, claiming that “they stole the presidency from him” and accusing Biden of being abused by them.
Trump wrote, “As he should be, he is an angry man.”
Trump’s claim was supported by rumors that Biden was invited to give a speech on Monday at the Democratic National Convention.
During his speech to supporters on Wednesday at the North Carolina rally, Trump noted that the event, which usually features B-list speakers, was the least busy night.
He further said that Biden was being treated disrespectfully at the White House by US Vice President and recently declared Democratic Party presidential nominee Kamala Harris.
“Kamala Harris is against working with Joe Biden because he is a crook. He stated, “They are discarding him to the Monday Night Stage, also referred to as Death Valley.”

Biden blames Pelosi and Democrats over withdrawal from race
Biden dropped out of the presidential contest and backed Harris, although he was reluctant to do so when members of his own party voiced worries about his mental health.
Biden made it clear earlier this month that he quit under duress rather than freely, placing full responsibility on Pelosi and a couple of his more senior Democratic colleagues. When he was asked to stand down, he also made it clear that there was no serious medical problem and that the fight with Trump was near.
On Thursday, Trump is scheduled to have a press conference at his New Jersey residence.
