Sources said news agency ANI that former prime minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina and her group fled the nation in an effort to “save their lives.”
Sheikh Hasina, the former prime minister of Bangladesh, left her nation after stepping down and arrived in India on Monday, August 5. Hasina and several of her team members, however, left the violent nation in a hurry and did not have time to pack their clothing and necessities, according to ANI, which cited sources with knowledge of the situation.
Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, and a few other acquaintances took a C-130 J cargo plane from Dhaka to India on Monday. The group didn’t bring any daily necessities with them because they arrived in India quickly in an attempt to “save their lives,” according to ANI.
The members of Hasina’s entourage were assisted in purchasing clothing and other necessities by the Indian protocol officials who were stationed with them. The report said that the team members were in a state of shock as a result of what they had seen and seen at home during the previous several days.
According to the story, the two sisters from Bangladesh’s most well-known political family came in India with a group of friends in the double digits. Ajit Doval, the advisor on national security for India, visited Hasina as soon as she arrived in Delhi and kept in close contact with the authorities. They said that the crew received emergency assistance and was brought to safe places in Delhi.
When Sheikh Hasina fled Bangladesh
Just as demonstrators in Bangladesh invaded Sheikh Hasina’s official house and began looting all buildings and monuments linked with her party, the Awami League, Sheikh Hasina, her sister, and her entourage escaped Dhaka.
Hasina’s resignation was followed shortly after by an address to the nation by Bangladesh’s army leader announcing the establishment of an interim administration. On Thursday, Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus’s new administration is scheduled to assume office.
It’s probable that Hasina would remain in New Delhi for a few days before pursuing political refuge. She hasn’t decided whether to apply for asylum in the United States or the United Kingdom, according to her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, who made this announcement on Wednesday.
Joy went on to say that Hasina left Bangladesh because her family was worried about her safety, not because she wanted to.
“She didn’t want to leave Bangladesh, which is why I was concerned—not because she was leaving the country. We needed to persuade her. Joy remarked, “I told them that this is a mob now, not a political movement, and they’re going to murder you.
