Salman Khan and Nikkhil Advani collaborated on movies like Salaam-e-Ishq and Hero. The reason they haven’t collaborated more frequently is revealed by the director.
Nikkhil Advani is getting ready for Vedaa, his upcoming movie, to hit theaters. During the promotional circuit, the filmmaker discussed his approach to filmmaking and his experiences collaborating with a wide range of celebrities. When Nikkhil was questioned about why he hadn’t collaborated with Salman Khan more frequently in an interview with The Lallantop, the filmmaker said that he always wanted to avoid the pressure of the box office.
What Nikkhil said
Salman and Nikkhil collaborated on Salaam-E-Ishq and Hero, respectively. Speaking about not working as much, Nikkhil stated in Hindi that Salman Khan’s movies needed to gross ₹300 crore. He will be devastated if his movie does less than ₹300 crore. It must be that large. That load is not what I desire. I want to get a good night’s sleep. The weight of producing that ₹300 crore movie is not something I want to take on. Making movies is what I want to do. Salman is my messiah; I adore him.
“There is that option, ‘In case of emergency, please call,’ that Salman for me on my contact list,” he continued. I’m confident he’ll drop everything and show up. He will say, “I will go, this person is in trouble,” even if he is doing the largest action scene. He is the industry’s savior. However, I don’t want to worry about ₹300–400 crore. Great if it does, but I don’t want to deal with that stress.”
