Neeraj Chopra’s silver touch
Neeraj Chopra finished with a best throw of 89.45 meters, however he was unable to keep his gold medal. Even though he did well on his second try, he struggled with four foul throws, which kept him from taking home the gold.
At the main event, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem won his nation’s first individual gold medal, setting a new Olympic record. Setting the bar too high for the rest of the competitors, including Chopra, who covered 89.45m in the second round to take the silver, Nadeem achieved an incredible 92.97m on his second try.
