Given her declining influence inside the party, Meghan Markle is unlikely to attend the Democratic National Convention and miss Kamala Harris’ “coronation.”
The Democratic National Convention is where Vice President Kamala Harris is likely to be certified as the party’s nominee to run against US President Donald Trump in the next presidential election. Meghan Markle may not be present.
The Duchess’s influence inside the Democratic Party, according to political analysts, has reached a “rock bottom,” thus it may be more detrimental than helpful for her to attend the event.
It seems unlikely that Meghan, who has expressed interest in running for office in the past, will be one of the well-known figures supporting Harris during the convention, which will take place at Chicago’s United Center.
The Suits actress has previously referred to Trump as “misogynistic” and “divisive,” leading many to think that the Duchess was “well-poised” to seek the presidency.
Beyoncé, Michelle Obama, Taylor Swift, and other celebrities are anticipated to attend, but Meghan’s presence on that list seems improbable.
Experts say no to Meghan for endorsing Harris
Harper’s Washington, DC editor Andrew Cockburn told Tatler that Meghan’s influence on voters right now isn’t really great. “I’m not aware of any rumors. Although I’m sure she would like to come, Cockburn said, “Her selling power has really gone pretty rock bottom here.”
She wouldn’t likely make much of an impact. She probably won’t attend the Convention. They wouldn’t likely want her there.
She has also made no secret of her political interest from a very young age, and all of those interests have been in the Democratic cause, according to Michael Colde, a former royal journalist for the BBC, who spoke with GBN America. To the point that she skipped the previous president Trump’s state visit to Britain while he was in office.
She objected to being introduced to Trump. She detested the Donald to such an extent. There have been rumors that she would choose a career in politics in California, given the historical precedence.
Kamala Harris has previously expressed support for Meghan
When Meghan posted a video regarding the Black Lives Matter movement, the Vice President openly supported the Duchess, saying, “We are with you,” and complimenting Meghan on her “powerful statement.”
“The more women we have, the better our democratic system will work, with a better point of view, a different point of view, and we embrace all women,” said Valerie Biden Owens, Joe Biden’s sister, in support of Meghan last year.
Meghan’s attendance in the convention will be difficult, though, because she and Prince Harry are presently touring Colombia. The pair arrived in Bogotá on Thursday, accepting an invitation from Vice President of Colombia Francia Márquez.
