Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet related an instance on the set of her most recent movie where she was instructed to sit upright in order to cover up her “belly rolls.”
The 48-year-old Oscar-winning actor Kate Winslet once again showed her support for body acceptance when she flaunted her beauty by appearing topless in the ocean for a photo session for Harper’s Bazaar.
Kate dares to bare
The actor is on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar UK’s most recent edition. She has gone totally nude in the water and is staring straight into the camera in one picture. She had on a set of diamond and white gold earrings. She is also seen showing off the little bird tattoo on her wrist in the photo.
The star discussed her next movie, Lee, and body image during the conversation.
Kate plays Lee Miller in the movie, a model-turned-photographer who later works as a combat journalist in World Combat II. The actor described in the interview a time when she was filming a scene in a bikini and a crew member advised her to sit up taller to cover her belly part.
Not ashamed of belly rolls
“There’s a scene when Lee is wearing a bikini and sitting on a seat… In between shots, a crew member approached and suggested that the actor sit up more straight. So my tummy rolls are invisible to you? Never in your life! You do realize it was intentional?” said she.
The star also said that it doesn’t bother her to appear less-than-ideal on screen. The reverse. Because it is my life on display and that counts, I am proud of it. I would never think to hide that,” she continued.
When Kate was barely 20 years old, she shot to fame when she landed the lead role in a 1995 rendition of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility.
She gained notoriety in 1997’s Titanic for one of the greatest nudist moments in movie history. She played the part of Rose in the film. When she begs Leonardo DiCaprio’s character, Jack, her love interest, to draw her, she is shown lounging on a sofa in the scene. The Regime is where we last saw her.
