Actor Gurmeet Choudhary discusses how he handles trolls and the reaction to his web series, Commander Karan Saxena, in an interview with Hindustan Times.
Social media fans of Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee have been amassed by their sporadic sharing of their life. There is a segment of social media that trolls them and their children, even if many others like seeing what they’re up to. Gurmeet, nevertheless, doesn’t allow it to affect him or his family because he believes it to be the worst drawback of being famous.
On kids paying the price of his fame
Debina and Gurmeet were married on February 15, 2011. Divisha was welcomed in November of the same year that they were blessed with their first daughter, Lianna, in April of the previous year. They have just lately begun posting details of their lives on social media, which is not without its share of trolling.
“Our lives are not only ours as public figures and actors… We announce it to the world. Gurmeet says to us, “We are working for everyone and to win their love.”
He goes on, “We chose to pursue this career path and become well-known individuals. Our goal was to become celebrities. And the drawback of being in that field is leading an open and public life to everyone.
When Gurmeet first began, he never thought his children would have to bear the consequences of his celebrity, but he has now learned how to deal with it. “We now know how to deal with negativity. Eighty to eighty-five percent of our social media presence is made up of excellent content, and five percent of users troll us and our children, the actor says.
Gurmeet says, “But there is nothing we can do about it.” at this point. Most of the time, we make an effort to ignore the bad things spoken about us and concentrate on the good things. We overlook the hate directed at my family and me in favor of concentrating on the love we get.
On dealing with trolls
Not just his children receive internet trolling. The actor occasionally finds themselves on the receiving end in the virtual world. However, he has mastered the ability to tune out hostility and concentrate on the positive criticism he receives from his followers.
“I’m not offended by trolling. I delete a social media comment when I think it’s coming from someone deliberately making fun of me. I want to pay attention to the positive remarks on social media, and I do it. My attention is always drawn to compliments and remarks made by critics on my work. The goal is to be aware of my progress and how I might improve to advance in my field. The actor, well-known for his work on television and internet platforms, declares, “I completely ignore trolls.”
On response to Commander Karan Saxena
The actor most recently starred in the Disney+ Hotstar online series Commander Karan Saxena. The Jatin Wagle-directed series follows a RAW agent as he delves into a complex political riddle to preserve the country. Gurmeet appears in the lead role. During the series, he also made his singing debut on a rap song.
“The response has just been overwhelming for the whole team,” Gurmeet said of the reception to the program.
“I had individuals in my society, ranging from liftmen to watchmen, approach me after the show debuted and inquire about it and the upcoming episode’s release date. I had custom T-shirts manufactured with the name of the concert stamped on them for my whole staff before the show. One of the lads from my crew was stopped by several folks who wanted to know more about the presentation in the local train. Gurmeet recalls, “He was very eager to come and tell me the entire story.”
“I was so touched that people are loving the show so much,” the speaker continues. Seeing the response, especially from viewers of various ages, was encouraging.
