During a news conference on Thursday, August 8, at Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump stated that Joe Biden “regrets it” that he chose Kamala Harris to be his running mate in 2020. She was the first candidate to lose under the Democratic primary system. She was the first one to give up. She resigned because she was a poor debater, and had no votes, and no support, according to Trump.
She never arrived in Iowa. Then, for whatever reason, he chose her, and she turned against him as well, which I know he regrets and you do too, Trump asserted.
She was collaborating with those who wanted his dismissal. However, it appears to me that it is genuinely illegal that someone may receive no votes, lose in the primary system (i.e., be chosen to run for president after 14 or 15 people choose you), and then be selected. Maybe it isn’t,” he continued.
Donald Trump claimed Kamala Harris was picked ‘because of political reasons’
In the press conference, Trump asserted further that Harris was chosen as the Democratic presidential nominee “even though she never received a vote, because of political reasons, or because of being politically correct.” Harris was dubbed “the most unpopular vice president” by him as well.
When Harris and Biden squared off in the 2020 primaries, Trump accused Harris of being “nasty” to Biden and said she was “calling him a racist.” In addition, the former president claimed that Biden, who withdrew from the race just now, is currently “a very angry man.”
Tim Walz, the governor of Minnesota, has been selected by Harris to be her running partner. Trump chastised the vice president for declining interviews after receiving Biden’s support. “She is not an interviewer. She is incapable of an interview,” Trump said. “But I look forward to the debates.”
