Coldplay’s rendition of Taylor Swift’s well-known song was released barely two weeks after the Vienna Eras Tour was canceled.
During their recent Vienna show, Coldplay honored Taylor Swift with a rendition of Love Story. At Ernst Happel Stadium in Austria, Maggie Rogers joined the band’s leader, Chris Martin, on stage. Swifties were moved by their performance, as the 34-year-old singer was supposed to play at the same location only two weeks before the European country canceled the Eras Tour.
Coldplay cover Taylor Swift’s Love Story in Vienna
The American rock group wowed the crowd with a dynamic performance of Swift’s 2008 smash single. Martin asked the audience, “If this is not good, please, please don’t put it on YouTube because I don’t want to get in trouble with Taylor,” in a performance video that was posted to X, the former Twitter. Fans let out loud cheers when they realized it was the tune.
The famous song by Blank Space hitmaker Swift is being covered by Coldplay, which coincides with the cancelation of Swift’s Eras Tour in Vienna due to a terror incident that was supposed to occur during her concerts, barely two weeks ago. A statement posted on social media stated, “We have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety… we have confirmation from the government officials of a planned terrorist attack.”
Austrians were heartbroken that Swift would only be in the city for three days. But Swifties now have some relief thanks to Martin’s cover, and they appreciate the 47-year-old for it. In response to the video clip uploaded by X user, who tweeted, “Chris Martin dedicated “Love Story” to all Swifties who were supposed to see Taylor in Vienna at the same stadium she was supposed to perform at,” one fan responded, “Awesome and appreciated by those who missed out.”

Very great, wrote a second admirer. You could hear the Swifties in the crowd yell by the third note of his guitar solo. How do they accomplish that? A third person said, “I’ve always loved Chris Martin, but I can’t believe he dedicated another song to her—this time it’s her own—it makes me cry. I hope she sees this,” in the meanwhile.
