The CBI announced in a news release on Thursday that it had searched 33 addresses. The principal of the Jharkhand school where the leak is said to have happened is one of those detained.
Since taking over investigations into the NEET-UG paper leak, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has detained 36 individuals, including alleged masterminds, “solvers,” and those who coordinated the operation’s logistics.
The CBI claimed in a news release on Thursday that it had searched 33 sites around the nation. Included in the number of arrests are the fifteen made by the Bihar Police, who had been looking into the issue earlier.
The majority of the solvers, who are all MBBS students from reputable universities, have been apprehended. The plot included the particular delivery of these solvers to Hazaribagh. This crime was committed by the accused Pankaj Kumar, also known as Aditya, and a few other masterminds who have been identified and many of whom have been placed under arrest. A group of accused individuals provided active support to this group by arranging housing arrangements for the candidates, while another group of accused individuals participated in organizing and transporting the candidates. It stated, “The candidates who obtained access to the solved question paper are being tracked down, and appropriate measures are being implemented.”
Pankaj Kumar, also known as Aditya, is a 2017 batch civil engineer from the National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur, and is regarded as one of the case’s main suspects. The CBI said in its Supreme Court arguments earlier this week that Aditya was the one who allowed Aditya to access the NEET-UG exam center, the Oasis School in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, known as the “strong room.” This is where the alleged leak happened.
Imtiyaz Alam, the center superintendent, and Ehsanul Haque, the head of the school, are among those detained.
The paper was subsequently transported to two sites in Hazaribagh
and
two more in Patna.
The “solvers” in the case, who were supposedly brought in from
various regions and
lodged in a guest home in Hazaribagh, were eventually paid to solve the crime.
