Despite remaining silent about her husband’s support for Trump, Hines praised Kennedy’s campaign team for accomplishing “feats that were said to be impossible.”
The West Wing and Get Out star Bradley Whitford recently attacked 58-year-old Cheryl Hines, the widow of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The 64-year-old criticized the Curb Your Enthusiasm star on social media on Sunday for her silence on her husband’s support of Donald Trump.

Actor Billy Madison took a swipe at Hines on X, the previous Twitter platform, following Kennedy’s announcement that he was withdrawing from the 2024 presidential contest and endorsing the Republican nominee. “Hey @CherylHines, way to keep quiet while your crazy husband defends the found guilty rapist who boasts about depriving women of their basic rights. Brave. Excellent model for the children. A brave profile,” Whitford raged.
Hey @CherylHines, way to stay silent while your lunatic husband throws his support behind the adjudicated rapist who brags about stripping women of their fundamental rights. Gutsy. Great example for the kids. Profile in courage. https://t.co/DrhXY3npcF

Though Hines refrained from discussing her husband’s endorsement of Trump, she complimented Kennedy’s campaign staff on achieving “achievements that were deemed unattainable.” “Despite the obstacles and lawsuits that have been brought against them, they have amassed over a million signatures—more than any other candidate in history—and have gained access to ballot boxes across the nation with the express intent of preventing Bobby from being on the ballot so that no one would even be able to vote for him,” she continued.
