According to Norwegian journalist Kjersti Flaa, who is infertile, Blake Lively’s comment about having a “little bump” during their 2016 interview wounded her.
Due to her “tone-deaf” promotional tour for the film It Ends With Us, which tackles a delicate subject like domestic abuse, Blake Lively has come under criticism. In the midst of this criticism, journalist and writer Kjersti Flaa from Norway shared her interview experience from 2016 with her for Cafe Society, describing the exchange as a “nightmare.” According to Page Six, the journalist stated in a recent interview with The Daily Mail that she was especially offended by the actor’s remark since she was “infertile.”
What the journalist said
“To be honest, it hurts because I was not pregnant and I could never get pregnant,” the journalist admitted. Thus, that remark seemed like a bullet to me. For me, it was a traumatic event. They made care to make it as difficult as possible for me to perform the task for which I was there.
“I was there so they could promote a movie,” she said. It was suggested that we meet. That was not how it felt. I began to wonder if I ever wanted to do these kinds of interviews again since I felt dismissed and unappreciated.
More details
The actor is receiving a lot of negative feedback on social media as a result of her impolite interviewer behavior. The star had just revealed that she was expecting her second child, so Flaa had congratulated her during the conversation. In response, the actor said, “Congrats on your little bump.”
The interview with Blake Lively that inspired Flaa to resign from her job was uploaded on her YouTube channel last week. “Sitting down with Blake Lively and her co-star Parker Posey for Cafe Society (2016) is the most uncomfortable interview situation I have ever experienced,” she said in the description.
