Jennifer Lopez’s sale of her NYC penthouse was announced a few days after Ben Affleck purchased a $20 million home in Los Angeles.
Ever since rumors began to circulate that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck would soon be divorced, there has been an unhealthy obsession with Bennifer 2.0 real estate. Even though the couple is still mired in marital problems, Lopez has finally let go of one part of her history. The “Marry Me” singer allegedly sold her Madison Park penthouse in New York municipal for $23 million recently, according to municipal property documents made public on Monday. According to reports from The New York Post, the singer placed it up for sale, and the ultimate transaction happened seven years after it should have. After it appeared that they had been living apart since May, JLo’s husband just purchased a new $20 million Los Angeles residence. This news of her duplex sale came only days after.
Rumors about their marital status have only grown after reports of their real estate transactions. The “Gigli” cast members haven’t, however, made any public remarks on the different web stories that have been circulating about them.
Bennifer was in a “rush to sell” their combined 12-bedroom Beverly Hills property, a source told Us Weekly earlier this month. Ben is very eager to finish the house. He was never content there, according to the publication.
About Jennifer Lopez’s New York City penthouse
The Whitman, Lopez’s opulent penthouse at 21 E. 26th St. in New York City, is one of four apartments in the six-story, Georgian-style building that was constructed in 1924.
It was initially listed for sale in 2017 for $26.95, but it was sold for $23 million seven years after it was listed (StreetEasy records). With four bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms, and over 3,000 square feet of outdoor space with four terraces on two levels, the expansive estate measures 6,540 square feet. A putting green, a roof deck with landscaping, and a croquet pitch are all features of Lopez’s former residence.
The home has been on and off the market since it was listed in 2017. Gimme Shelter’s article from that year stated that the upscale home became up for sale three years after JLo paid $20.1 million for it. Her old apartment, which had a view of Madison Square Park, is located one story above Chelsea Clinton’s space. The Flatiron Building and the MetLife Clock Tower are visible from several viewpoints of the area.
According to the Real Deal, the new owner of the condo is an unidentified LLC from West Palm Beach, Florida.
Former owner of a unit in the building was Jeff Gordon, a four-time champion in the NASCAR Cup Series.
